Love vs. Fear - Entry Period FAQS

During the entry period (deadline: August 27) for the Love vs. Fear photography show,
questions and answers about show entry processes will be posted here.

How broad is the theme? - July 30
An inquiry came in from an artist describing a direction he is interested in pursuing along with a question about whether it would be within the range of works sought for the Love vs. Fear theme. You're encouraged to interpret and work with the theme as broadly as you wish.

What about framing for multi media works? - August 6
An artist inquired with a description of a multi media work that incorporates photography along with a question about whether the guidelines on using black frames and white mats would apply to mixed media works that may not be traditionally framed. The guidelines on frames and mats are to encourage a focus on the the works, and, as such, are a request and not a requirement. You're encouraged to submit mixed media or other experimental pieces that may not use tradtional framing or use framing in non-traditional ways.

What about giclee prints on gallery-wrapped canvas? - August 8
There's been an inquiry about whether the call for entries includes a photo printed as a giclee on canvas and presented stretched in a gallery wrap format. Yes, gallery wrapped photos on canvas are welcome.

How large can a finished work be? - August 8
An artist inquired about the maximum size of an entered work, and Hank Margeson, the juror, has commented to me that photographers working in large format are welcome to submit entries in any size. Please note on the entry form the finished size in the blank for "frame size."
